As I did with Bibliophilia, for today’s post, I sought inspiration from the cards, one for each genre. This time, I went to an actual oracle deck, Earth Magic:
These cards are accompanied by a guidebook, so I excerpted some of the card’s advice as well. Use the cards and/or their messages as encouragement, advice, writing prompts, or whatever else seems to fit.

For the Poets: The Gift of Vigilance
Meaning Excerpt: Remain vigilant at this time, but not out of fear. “Vigilant” simply means opening up your mind and senses to information as it is presented to you: through your eyes, ears, physical sensations, and detached thoughts.
For the Fiction Writers: The Gift of Rebirth

For the Playwrights: The Gift of Synergy (I’m Jealous!)
Meaning Excerpt: You have the advantage of an incredible synergy at this time. A flow of Life is guiding you, where things just seem to fall into place as you move about your business. . . . There is also a synergy between your spiritual awareness and your personal self, or ego. Be aware of the various idiosyncrasies of your ego, and do not take any of them too seriously.
Forthe Graphic Novelists and Writers in Other Formats: The Gift of Perspective
Meaning Excerpt: You have lost your perspective, so it is time to step back, breathe, and allow yourself to detach in order to gather information from your senses and regain your perspective about the situation. Detachment does not mean that you no longer care–it simply indicates that you are looking at things from a different point of view.

A Writer's March 
You know how sometimes you’re reading a horoscope and it seems like it is speaking directly to you? Well, the 2 that spoke to me were the Synergy and Perspective cards, which strikes me as odd because they seem to be diametrically opposed. By the by, speaking of last week’s post, I’d love to know what inspiration you and Randi get from rocks selected this way.

Also, yes, I feel that way all the time – about the cards saying something important. Plus, it makes sense that the playwrighting card would speak to you! You are the one I was thinking about most!
